An aspiring mother and wife, Linda is very eager to have her own business to earn extra income. She was able to start her own buying and selling dried fish in the market and through her determination, she was able to help her husband in supporting their family.
Linda Encabo, 48, is a resident of Isabel Leyte. She is married to Benjamin Encabo, 48, and is cureently working as a welder in Philphos Company in Manila. They were blessed with 5 children who are all studying now.
Their first business was buying and selling ornamental plants but due to small profit and irregular customers the couple decided to stop the business. Linda really wanted to have her own business because the income of her husband as a welder is not enough to sustain their daily needs. Linda decided to borrow initial capital from TSKI. With the small capital, she was able to start a business in buying and selling dried fish in the market. She rented a small stall in the market to display her products. She admitted that the first few months in business were really hard for her because of stiff competition but with her proper management and good rapport with the customers she was able to gain the loyalty of her customers. Linda was very happy with the outcome of their business and as a result she was able to send her children in school and she was able to help her husband in saving money for the renovation of their house.
Linda still needed additional income for her business expansion. She wanted to have a bigger capital so that she would be able to purchase in volume dried fishes to save some money because there is a special discount if they would purchase it in bulks.
Additional capital would be a big help for her family wherein she could be able to save some money for the studies of their children. If given a chance, she also wanted to invest in other business like buying a tricycle so that she could also sell her products in nearby towns and barangays.
