Selina Anaba
Selina is 32 years old Ghanaian woman who is wife and mother of three children. Currently, the kids are in school. She lives with her family in Tema, where she conducts her business.
Selina has been a seamstress for five years. She is a specialist in female clothing and sews various styles that strive to give her customers a new look. Selina's specialty is working with kaba and slit, wedding dresses, and funeral clothing etc.
She also sells sachet water in addition to give her extra income to support her family.
With the loan, she would like to buy increased supplies of sewing material such as: linen, thread, thimbles, etc. to increase her out put and efficiency. Selina hopes to increase her savings to provide her children with quality education.
Selina is a member of the community group called “Nyame ye” Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access loans and provide support to one another to repay.
Client Update
Selina has successfully completed repayment of her loan of GHS 1000. This was a confirmation by the loan officer who said Selina had travel to her hometown to visit her mum. By phone call, she told us business was successful until recently. She people are not sewing of late basically because they do not have money she said. She said though business did not meet her expectations, she made every effort to repay her loan in full so that she can have the opportunity another time.
She added that, her family is doing well and the kids are doing good at school. She said, last academic term school went quite high but with proceeds from her business, she was able to pay all the fees.
