Edna Quijada
“Success does not come easily to the person who started from nothing and needed to struggle daily just to survive the harsh reality of poverty. It is a hard situation which you sometimes think to quit and just closed your eyes, but we need to live not for our ownselves but to our love one, my children,” quipped by the teary eyed Mrs. Edna N. Quijada.
Mrs. Quijada, 41 years old and lives in Dauis, Bohol, is a solo parent to her 3 children. Her husband died two years ago due to illness.
Mrs. Quijada has to stand her ground in keeping her family. The determination and persistence of her children to finish their studies are her inspiration and source of strength in making an income daily. Mrs Quijada is accepting sewing jobs from her neighbors, friends and parents of her children’s classmates. Her sewing skills keep her patrons coming back to her for their sewing needs. She did all her sewing job with her lone old age sewing machine
The increasing school expenses by her children are creeping to her minds. She has to make some sizeable decision to improve her sewing jobs so that she can continue sending her children to school. The limited amount that she loaned from Taytay Sa Kauswagan, Inc. have helped her in buying some materials for sewing but still she needed to replace the old age sewing machine she have.
Mrs Quijada said that, “I will endure the pains of what I have today, but maybe I will see a sun light shining for my family tomorrow. Your help will be a start to it”
