Mary Annan
Mary Annan is fifty – eight years old. She is married with three children. According to her, two of her children have completed school. The last born, however, is in the senior high school.
Currently, she lives with her children and husband in an old family house in a fishing community called Elmina, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
Mary is a food vendor. She cooks and sells rice and stew. She prepares the food in the house and sells in the market square in the mornings. She procures bags of rice and other food items from the wholesalers from the nearby cities at convenient prices.
Mary has been in this business for ten years and wants a loan to procure food items and other ingredients in bulk. She believes the loan assistance would enable her to buy tilapia and assorted fishes in bulk to serve larger market and eventually, help improve her family finances. She hopes to give her children the best of support she can give them.
Client Update
Mary was not met during her group meeting. She was on her way to purchase stock. Through phone call she shared with news about her business progress. With her recent loan, she was able to buy bags of rice, gallons of vegetable oil, tin tomatoes and spices for her food business. She was glad to reveal that the loan she received from OptINnow has beefed up her working capital and her ability to purchase food ingredients in bulk. Being able to buy in bulk is very advantageous. It means fewer trips to fill the demand, and it is a hedge against the rapidly rising prices. She now makes profit margin between 40-50 cedis per week which is twice her previous profits. After receiving her second loan cycle with SAT from OptINnow lenders, Mary says she is gradually scaling up her business profit which is making her life quite easy.
The profits from her recent loan went to support her child who is still in Senior High school for his school fees and books; household feeding and paying bills.
Mary said she is grateful to her lenders for giving her the opportunity to improve her business and improve her family living condition. God bless you.
