Theresa is a petty trader. She trades in all kinds of vegetables such as tomatoes, pepper, onions, garden eggs, etc. on a table top in the local market square. She procures her goods from farming communities in the nearby towns. Theresa aspires to increase her stock so she can trek to other towns to sell on their market days to increase her profit margin.
She has been in this business for eight years and wants a loan to purchase vegetables in bulk.
Client Update
Theresa wants to thank all her lenders for impacting her business through their loans. She needed additional working capital in the form of loan to purchase stock of vegetables in bulk. Your timely response to her need has really eased her stress. She was resourced with a loan of GHS 600. After receiving her third loan cycle with SAT from OptINnow donors, Theresa says she is gradually scaling up her business. She says, her business has grown significantly and most of her customer’s demands are met. She also said being able to buy in bulk is very advantageous. It means fewer trips to fill the demand, and it is a hedge against the rapidly rising prices. She now makes profit margin between 50 - 60 cedis per week which is twice her previous profits.
The profits from her recent loan went to support her children who are in school for their school fees and books; supported household feeding and bills, and with the remainder, she reinvested in her business
She says she is grateful to her lenders for giving her the opportunity to improve her business and improve her family living conditions.
