Mercedes owns a business producing several varieties of shirts, some of which she sells herself and some of which she sells to other vendors. Her main business goal is to increase her profits by growing her business through acquiring a large workshop for her shirt production.
Mercedes' husband Teofilo is a soldier in the Colombian military, as is her eldest son Sandro. Her daughter Sandra is a nurse, while her two other daughters Saira and Sara are students. She dreams of being able to provide a quality education for her children in the future.
