Esther Wanjiku Njeri

Esther Wanjiku Njeri is a 32years old entrepreneur. She is single but has intentions of getting married in the near future. After struggling to get employed after her graduation, Eshter decided to start her own business. In the year 2004 she started a boutique in Githurai. She started up by concentrating on ladies wear but as she kept learning the tricks in the business, she also stocked enough men and children clothes. The business has been doing well and towards the end of last year Esther decided to open a telephone bureau in her boutique. On average Esther makes a monthly net profit of ksh 30000 which she invests some into the business and remaining portion she uses for her monthly upkeep.

Esther has been opportunity Kenya client for the last seven months and we are currently funding her with the second loan. With this loan, Esther intends to diversify her business by starting a money transfer business (mpesa) and increasing the stocks in her boutique. She has high hopes of making good money during this festive season which she says will go a long way in improving her living standards and business in general.
