Ammy Balboa
Having 4 children to feed and a physically incapable husband due to some sickness, Ammy becomes the bread winner of her family. She put up a small business in food vending and now it is the major source of their income.
Ammy Balboa, 46, is a resident of Sigma Capiz. She is married to Adonis Balboa, 47, a former seaman but due to a certain sickness he was not able to work again. They were blessed with 4 children.
Ammy and her children were living in comfortable lives before. Her husband was a seaman and he was a good provider to their family. She thought that she will not face any problem since the income of her husband is too much for their needs and so she decided to save some of her money in the bank for future use. She was not prepared when her husband got sick and was not able to return to his work. It was a big blow to Ammy and her family. She has to find ways in order to support the needs of her family especially the medication of her husband.
She started to accept jobs like being a photographer in different occasions but still the income was not regular. She decided to use her savings to raise hogs and the remaining savings was use as a capital for a small business. She started to make different native delicacies and “puto” and sell it to school and in the public market. She found out that the people like her foods and so she focused on her business and after just a few months she was able to rent a stall in the public market where she displayed her foods. Although her profit is not that big, Ammy is already contented because she could sustain their daily needs and she still lacks capital for her business expansion. She was able to send their children in school and provide the medication of her husband.
Ammy is still hoping for an additional income for her business expansion. She wanted to purchase more ingredients for her business to increase her production to generate more income. She also wanted to build up spacious pig pens for her hog raising project.
An additional income will be use to her business expansion and it will be a big help for Ammy and her family. She wanted to earn more for the medication of her husband and for the studies of her children.
