Mary Rose Cerrada
Mary Rose Cerrada, 45, is a resident of San Lorenzo Guimaras. She is married to Mr. Joel Cerrada, 48, a tricycle driver. They were blessed with 5 children, the eldest is already a college graduate, two of them are in college, one in high school and one in elementary.
Mary Rose spent her time in taking care of their children while her husband is driving their own tricycle which was given to them as a gift from her sister in law. The income of her husband was just enough for their daily needs. When their eldest daughter entered college, it was the time that Mary Rose felt the urge to help her husband in earning income. Mary Rose had no capital at that time so she decided to borrow a small loan from TSKI and luckily she was given the initial capital to put up a sari-sari store.
She was very happy to manage their business because she was able to support the studies of their children with the help also of her husband. After a few months, she was able to widen the space of her store and put up a small eatery beside it. Her children help her in maintaining the store and the eatery.
With her proper management of their business, she was able to purchase some household appliances for their home improvements and send their 5 children in school. When her eldest child graduated in college, Mary Rose couldn’t believe that after all their hardship and sacrifices they have now a professional daughter. Her daughter is working and she is helping them by supporting the studies of her younger siblings.
Mary Rose still needed additional capital for her business. She wanted to improve the facilities of their small eatery to accommodate more customers. She also wanted to purchase some kitchen wares needed for the eatery. She admitted that even though she has a child who is working already, she still wanted to improve her business for her other children.
Additional capital would be a big help for Mary Rose and her family. She could also help her daughter in supporting the other children in their studies.
