Clemencia Bustamante
Clemencia Bustamante,46, is a native of Brgy. Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She is married to Mr. Norberto Evangelista, 47. They were blessed with 4 sons; the eldest is 25 years old and the youngest is 14 years old.
After they get married, Clemencia and her husband put up their first business which is vegetable vending. The capital came from both their parents as a gift in their wedding. It was giving them a good income at first but after a few years, many vendors also sprouted in their area and they have experienced having low sales and some of their products were also spoiled. They decided to stop their vegetable vending and they looked for other alternative source of income. It was very hard for them to start a new business because they had no capital to start with. They tried to borrow some capital from their relatives but no one let them borrowed. The couple was still hopeful and their faith to God gets stronger every day.
Luckily, one of their friends named Dingdong helped them financially to have their own business. Dingdong is a businessman and he hired Clemencia and Norberto to be one of his employees in his business. The couple was so dedicated to their work until such time that Dingdong gave them a chance to start their own business which is banana peddling. They looked for a warehouse where they could keep their tons of banana that came from a big plantation in Bukidnon in Mindanao. The couple together with their sons helped each other on their business.
The Evangelista family gained a lot of benefits from the hard work and perseverance that they have. They have purchased some household appliances and had acquired a motorcycle which helps them a lot in peddling their bananas in different towns and barangays. They were able to send their children in school.
Clemencia still needed additional capital for her business. She wanted to improve the facilities in her warehouse to maximize its space to keep more of her products. It will be a big help for her family especially for the education of her children.
An additional capital will be a big blessing for Clemencia and her family. She really wanted to give her family a better future.
