Rosita Lingo
The couple that is helping each other will surely attain their dreams. This is how Rosita and her husband describe their success. They started in selling dried fish until they were able to have a stall in the market for fish vending. As of now, they have 2 fishing boat that came from their hardship and sacrifices.
Rosita Lingo, 50, is a resident of Ubay Bohol. Her husband is Sabiniano Lingo, 53, a fish vendor. They were blessed with 5 children wherein three of them are already married while two of them are still studying.
The couple sustains the needs of their children through selling of dried fish. They used their small savings as initial capital. They are buying fish from the fishermen then they clean it and dry it under the sun. It was a hard job because it takes time and patience especially during bad weather in which it takes at least 3 days in order to dry the fishes. Then the couple has to travel to nearby barangays to sell their products. Sometimes, it was only Sabiniano selling their dried fish because Rosita has to take care of their children. The couple supported each other because they wanted to give their children a better future. After few years of hardship and sacrifices, the couple was able to save some money to be use as an additional capital. They decided to use their savings on buying and selling fish in the market. They rented a small stall in the market for their business.
The couple helped each other on their business. They managed their business properly and Rosita see to it that she could save some of their income because she wanted to buy a fishing boat for her husband who is also a fisherman. Her prayers were answered finally because she was able to buy a second hand fishing boat. With their own fishing boat, they were able to save some money because they didn’t have to purchase fish from other fishermen.
Through her proper management of their business, the couple was able to provide the needs of their family. They were able to send their children to school and they have purchased some household appliances. She has also bought another fishing boat and has hired two of her relatives to man the boat and she is giving them commission base on their catch.
As of now, Rosita still needed additional capital for her business. She wanted to purchase a tricycle so that she could also sell her fishes to nearby towns and barangays to generate more income.
Additional capital will be a big help for Rosita and her family. A good future is all that she wanted for her children. She also wanted to help her children who are already married to have their own income by giving them livelihood.
