Victoria Bendanillo
Many people are usually contented of what they have but Victoria still wanted to help her husband in earning money. She is now busy on her business in baking cakes and pastries and other foods.
Victoria Bendanillo, 53, is a resident of Toledo Cebu City. She is married to Andres Bendanillo, 53, and is working as a heavy equipment operator in Albay. Unfortunately, the couple was childless but they have an adopted son who completed their lives.
As a business minded person, Victoria could not stay at home waiting for her husband to give his income to her. Her uncle in Cebu has a business in manufacturing shoes. Victoria decided to sell shoes in their town to help her husband in earning money because his income as a heavy equipment operator was just minimum wage and it could barely support their needs. She sells shoes to nearby towns and barangays in a house to house scheme. It was a tiring job but Victoria was really determined to earn money.
After 3 years, she decided to study culinary arts for 6 months with her husband’s approval. She has skills in baking and she wanted to enhance it. After 6 months, she was excited and the same time nervous to start her business in food vending. She was excited because this is her long time dream but she was nervous because she has no enough capital. With the capital she had that came from her husband’s savings, she bought a small oven and ingredients for her baking business. She started to accept few orders of cakes and pastries from her relatives and friends. She only accepted few orders due to lack of capital. After a few months, she decided to make siopao, muffins, and cookies that she could sell everyday because cakes and pastries were ordered only occasionally.
For others it was a tiring job but for Victoria it was a job that she really enjoys because aside from earning money she was also happy that her products could make other people smile because it was just affordable. Her business was a great help for the family because she was able to help her husband in providing the needs of her family and sending her son to school.
As of now, Victoria still needed additional capital for her business expansion. She wanted to improve the materials she has in baking in order to improve her products and increase the production. She also wanted to buy a bigger oven.
Additional capital will be a big help for Victoria and her family. Aside from that she also wanted to give livelihood to other people by letting them sell her products.
Client Update
Victoria is a very optimistic person. Despite of the fact that they were childless, Victoria is very proud of their adopted son and always is a supportive mother to him. Her fondness of baking gave her a chance to earn income to help her husband. She used the additional capital to buy the needed materials for baking like an oven, baking tools and cooking pans. She also bought additional ingredients like flour and cooking oil. She is now planning to put up a small cake shop in front of their house where she could display her food products.
Victoria has now paid fully her loan with a good track record for her payment.
