Ledis Rodriguez
Ledis is a 40 year old woman and the coordinator of the trust group "new paradise", which is located in the community of Fredonia.
She is a single mother of two teenage children, Yorlendis and Melquin. They both currently attend public high school.
For the past 10 years Ledis has been operating a business of preparing homemade fried foods called Empandas, Arepas and Buñuelo (typical Colombian food) which she prepares with ground corn, meat, vegetables and potatoes.
Her outdoor stand is strategically located on a corner where all her costumers pass when going to work in the morning. With the profits from this business Ledis has been able to provide for all of her children's needs.
Now she needs a loan to improve her business, and purchase greater quantities of inventory including 6 plastic chairs and a tent, thus to increase her daily sales volume, and with the increasing profits be able to pay for college for her children and pursue her goal of one day becoming a international businesswoman.
Client Update
Leidys is doing fabulous. She continues to operate her food sales and raise her children. She says the loan has been a blessing for her because through this she was able to purchase a bigger aluminum stand. In the past few months she has reached an increase in profits because new clients have come to her business. She recently was told that her daughter is going to get heart surgery and is very optimistic that everything will go well. She also has realized that leading the trust group makes her feel confident and dignified, which is why she loves the group. Finally, she successfully completed her loan cycle and looks forward to reach success in the next one in order to make the down payment for her own house.
