Leah Omulanda
Leah A. Omulanda is a thirty one year old entrepreneur. She is married to Fredrick and they have been blessed with two children. After struggling to get formal employment, Leah decided to set up a business of selling books, stationery and school uniforms in Toi Market in the year 2004. This business performed very well and out of Leah’s love for teaching, she managed to save enough money to start a small nursery school in Kibera slums.
The business has since grown and she is currently offering education to over sixty pupils. Leah’s aim is to provide quality education to her young children and to be able to provide them with a quality life. She is currently making a monthly net profit of ksh19000 that she majorly uses in meeting her monthly expenses and reinventing some back into the business.
Leah became a member of Opportunity Kenya recently and we are currently funding her with the first loan. Leah intends to invest this loan by increasing the number of desks and improving the general condition of the school. She is also intending to use part of this money to advertise and market her school. She is projecting an increase in the number of new pupils to visit her school for admission and this she says will go a long way in improving her profit. We thank you for supporting Leah’s business and her family at large.
